Roberta Antognini has a Laurea in History of Italian Language from the Università Cattolica di Milano (Italy). She joined the faculty after receiving her PhD in Italian from New York University in 1997. Prior to her arrival at Vassar, she was an adjunct Professor at Columbia University and Fordham University. Her main research and teaching interests lie in the Middle Ages and Renaissance Literature, History of Italian Language, Autobiography and Translation. She is the author of a monograph on Petrarch’s collection of letters, the Familiares: Il progetto autobiografico delle Familiares di Petrarca (Milano: LED, 2008). She is the co-editor of the collection of essays Poscritto a Giorgio Bassani. Saggi in memoria del decimo anniversario della morte (Milano: LED, 2012). Together with Deborah Woodard, she is translating the collection of poems Hospitale series by Amelia Rosselli (forthcoming in 2015: New Directions, New York).
